From problem To Solution

A real-world example of what it means to have a specialist review your coverage — and what can go wrong when you don’t.

The Situation

Illustrative Case Study

Adding fuel service and customer aircraft storage

An airport service business expanded from ramp support into fuel sales and leased additional hangar space for customer aircraft. The broker gathered the fuel system details, quality control procedures, training, contracts, hangar capacity, maximum aircraft values, property, vehicles, and payroll. The resulting submission allowed underwriters to evaluate the expanded operation as one coordinated risk and offer specific coverages designed to provide coverage for the new operations exposures without being overly broad.

02 — The Solution

Testimonial

Jean Marc

I cannot recommend Joe Ryan highly enough for all of my aviation insurance needs. He initially helped me insure my Cessna 182T Skylane, then seamlessly guided me through adding a TBM 850 single-engine turboprop and ultimately a HondaJet Elite S. Throughout every transition, he worked diligently to secure the best coverage and most competitive rates possible.
What truly sets him apart is his professionalism, responsiveness, and personal attention. He is always available to take my call or email, incredibly easy to work with, and consistently makes the insurance process straightforward and stress-free.

If you’re looking for an aviation insurance broker who genuinely cares about his clients, delivers exceptional service, and goes the extra mile to find the best coverage, I highly recommend Joe Ryan. He has earned my complete trust and is someone I know I can always count on.

03 — THE SITUATION

THE SITUATION

A vintage aircraft, the wrong policy.

Twelve months after placing the policy, James made a precautionary landing at a grass strip in eastern Texas. The aircraft sustained gear damage on rollout — not catastrophic, but significant. The repair estimate came in at $22,000.
Because the policy had been placed correctly, the claim was handled without dispute. The agreed value was on file, the cause of loss was covered, and Ryan managed the claims process directly with the insurer. James had his aircraft back in the air within six weeks.
FAQ

what you need to know

Still have questions? Joe will respond personally.

Bodily injury and property damage arising from your premises, operations, products, and services, subject to the policy terms. Airport leases often set the minimum limit you need to carry.

You’re responsible for customer aircraft you store, tow, fuel, or handle. Hangarkeepers covers damage to those aircraft when you're legally liable, and the limit should reflect the highest total value in your hangar at one time.

Not necessarily. Products and pollution coverage are different, and pollution is often limited or excluded unless specifically added. Fuel storage, delivery, and quality control procedures should be reviewed when the policy is written.

Airport leases, fuel agreements, and vendor contracts often require specific limits, additional
insureds, or waivers. Have your broker check the policy against each one before signing or
renewing.

It depends on how they’re licensed and used. Licensed road vehicles usually need business auto coverage, while airside equipment like tugs may fall under the aviation or mobile equipment coverage, so each vehicle should be reviewed.
